Karen O. Roberts was born in 1971 in a small town in the only English speaking country in South America, Guyana. As a child, she often felt awkward, too tall, too skinny, and too dark-skinned.
However, at eight years old, someone told her “Look at you! You are beautiful”—and from that moment on, she developed a new attitude toward herself. It was this attitude that inspired her debut children’s book, Look at You! You Are Beautiful.
She moved to St. Lucia (The Caribbean) the birthplace of her grandparents, when she was a teenager. Today, Karen lives with her husband and son outside Gothenburg, Sweden since 2000. She enjoys reading, writing, traveling, staying fit and spending time with her family.
